Egg Baron
The egg baron proved to me that rolled-bottom “hull” style bottom contours can shred just as well as they provide trim. It provides an involved ride for those curious to the rabbit hole (hull), or a more relaxed and regulated ride for those already in deep. From nose to tail, the rail apex transitions from an almost entirely “up” rail in the nose where the most roll is distributed, down to a 50/50 rail in the mid-section, and a thin down rail in the tail, staying relatively pinched throughout the entire length. As the roll dissipates towards the back foot, a double concave blends in and reaches its deepest right in the middle of the finbox and fades again to flat in the last few inches of the board. Pair with a flex fin with minimal base and a thin tip. Volan fins provide extra springiness, especially with this board.
